poor throttle response

Hi we have a 1996 C200 /W202 it idles fine but when i accelerate it takes a while to
respond at about half throttle but once we are moving it is a little better but definitely not
engaging till half throttle and also when turning a corner and accelerating  it sounds like
an old carby and it stutters and it does not seem to send the message to the tranny to
change down correctly but if i change manually it is fine . So is the throttle body the issue

Clean the throttle body with a good throttle body cleaner, such CRC...
