Do we do any permanent damage?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Battery isn't 6 months old and is fully charged and the car won't start or even
come alive, no lights, bells or whistles come on, nothing.  The battery was
charged directly in the trunk and I've seen that this can damage the computer
operating system.  Anyway to reset or bypass the computer to start it?

Recheck battery for load capability, if good then check for blown mains, if those are good, check in the owners manual for reset procedures for the security system. You may have to have it towed to the dealer for a reflash of the computer system.
