Good Morning Ced37, The '06 7 Series has a sealed transmission, and if it is low on fluid it would be because of a leak that will need to be address by your Dealer or Transmission Expert. I have been in this situation and the cars computer told me to drive moderately to a service center. They were able to find a cracked and leaking sensor, which they replaced and back filled the tranny thru the senor hole. Respectively it wasn't too expensive, and thanks to the on board computer there was no damage to the tranny. You have probably looked intensively for a tranny dip-stick and can't find one. That's the reason my friend. Good Luck, Rats

I have a 2006 BMW 750i, with a sport transmission. I read through the owner's manual and the maintenance manual. Nowhere does it say the tranny has a dipstick. To my great surprise, I found a dipstick for the transmission on the driver's side. I am still puzzled as to why my car has a tranny dipstick. I have removed it several times to check the fluid level, both at cold and at warm/hot. Was it an after-market addition?!!!! The car has a button you can use to cycle the transmission from A (automatic) to M (manual) to S (sport).
