Replacing Worn Console Buttons on 2003 745Li

The finish has worn off of both of the console buttons on my 745Li.  Has anyone replaced these buttons or know of tips/tricks for doing it?

ya the way you suppose to replace it when you get the new one it will come with the complete latch assy.it will require removing the center console and alot of work if you havent done it beofre.drill out a small hole in the button itself and pull it out from the top.pop in the new ones and your done.

My center console button broke at the lower end. It still releases the latch but pops up in the air when the console door is closed and has to be dropped back in place. See picture. Can I remove the new button from the latch assembly I bought and just put it in from the top?
