The Button on the Dashboard!

My husband just bought a 2004 BMW 545i. We both love it!

However we are perplexed about what the button on the front dashboard is for. It is located in the middle of the dashboard, beside something that looks like a speaker.

Can anyone let us know what that button is for?

I would contact your BMW dealer. It sounds like a Dolby audio boost button or something similar, however,I am not 100% sure.
