is 231,000 miles for a 2000 BMW 5 Series 540i too much?

Asked by Andrew Aug 26, 2019 at 10:53 PM about the 2000 BMW 5 Series 540i Sedan RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

the car is going for 3,569 and is in great condition.  It does have 231,000 miles
though. Will this car give me problems down the road due to its extensive use?
thanks

The car is probably near the end of its life without massive infusions of cash. If it is in top shape and you will only drive it on weekends it might last a couple or years...............or a couple of days. A BMW specialist should check it out before you buy.
