Tick! Tick! Serpentine Belt

40

Asked by Prynce Aug 18, 2016 at 03:48 AM about the 2000 BMW 5 Series 528i Sedan RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My serpentine belt was going bad and since I
changed it it's been making an annoying loud
ticking sound. I checked to see if anything was
jammed in it but it's completely clear of debris

I'll bet Tom is right, usually it is the tensioner. Serpentine belts will generally last for 100,000+ miles if all the pulleys are in good condition.
