I think the oil pressure switch may have been leaking oil could that cause it to shut off?

Any codes ? Check the fuel pump fuse , located in the trunk. The oem fuses sometimes crack and isnt easily visible. How was your idle prior ?

Im having the same problem on my 05 e60..... could a different type of oil cause the light to come on?
