change temp readout from Celsius to Fahrenheit

Asked by arenjose Jan 27, 2007 at 10:27 AM about the 2003 BMW 3 Series 330i Sedan RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i just picked up a 330 xi and didn't get a owner's manuel.  I've ordered one from the dealer, but this temperture readout is driving me nuts.  It reads out the temp in celsius and i want to change it to fahrenheit.  I also need to set the correct time on it.

Dear arenjose-- I have a 2001 BMW 525. I would assume your controls would be similar. On my car I go from fahrenheit to celcius by turning my ignition key to position 1. I then press and hold the trip odometer reset button. Then I turn the key to position 0. This should work for you too. Good luck from Bovan.

The other night I found a sight on-line that has all the BMW manuels in PDF. It was http://www.analogstereo.com/bmw_owners_manual.htm I was pretty happy to get this and discovered all sorts of stuff about the car you would normally know. Gaood luck from Dave

the easiest way is to just go through the statistics your car gives you on your dash by pressing the button where your blinker thing is, it will go through gas mileage, average speed, etc. when you get to the temperature readout, press the button on the right side of where your odometer is (not the odometer reset) and it will change back. you can also change the time readout by doing this as well (from 1-12oclock to 1-24)

My car had an issue with the temp blinking and beeping after an accident so I took it to get fixed. I asked the repair guy to display the clock instead of temperature but I want to be able to change it to temperature at will. The repair guy said BMW's usually have the controls to change the temp to clock on the blinker stem/wand but my BMW doesn't have one. Does anyone know how to change the clock to temp on the display of a 2005 BMW 325i?
