Last new my 325i bmw over heated the battery light come on than the coolest hand went in the red did not see smoke or steam just cooling over motor car still run

Well to start with, do not drive it until you get it fixed. You overheated and motor shut off. The cooling system needs to be inspected to see why it overheated.
