Tom you are lucky that you can get 93 octane. Some of us can only get 91 or lower.

i run the highest octane i can find,,,,hummmm even though it has knock sensors...you might need a little more octain if your up in the mountains getting it on..

91 or higher only, BMWs do NOT like regular. Stick with premium... your car will thank you!

Full: Whether 91, 92, or 93 octane, it's performs about the same where you are located. This is because the octane rating is set based on your locale, and how much knock you are likely to experience based on the altitude and heat.

I love my BMW 325xi, it is my first foreign high performance vehicle. I tried mid grade, once. Acceleration was lacking and I could feel the air flow was off. Adding lower octane seems to also burn more engine oil. I'd stick to premium if you care about the longevity of your BMW.
