Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an 01 bmw 325 (manual trans) with a blown motor, but otherwise in
great shape.  I found another 2001 325 with a great motor and trans under
100k miles for pennies.  The problem is, the donor has an automatic
transmission. My question is, can i swap the whole motor/auto trans setup
into my car with relatively little else to do compared to just swapping
transmissions?  For this particular car, id actually rather have the auto.  Thx!!!

I will have all those parts from the donor, so im good there. My understanding is that it would be much tougher to swap just the motor, because they were attached to different transmissions (one auto, one manual). No?
