2000 BMW 328i

Asked by GuruDBFGB Jan 26, 2020 at 12:29 PM about the 2000 BMW 3 Series 328i Sedan RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My name is AJ I have a 2000 Bmw 328i. Bought it
about a month ago the car stopped starting about a
week ago. Everything is working fine fuel pump,
lights, just not crank or start. Now the dealership
said they had solved that problem by getting the
key replaced but now it’s not working again. I tried
removing ground wire from battery and placing it
back on. I tried the two key methods using the
ignition and still nothing. The car starts once a day
but if it starts up and I turn it off it won’t start up
until the next day or so. Is this a starter issue? I
need HELP before I buy a new starter! Please!

I would suspect the crankshaft sensor. Don't take your BMW to the dealer, too much money! Find a local independent garage that works on BMW and Mercedes.

Is the red "clown nose" anti theft light flashing? It sounds like you still have immobilizer issues.
