i just recently purchased a 88 325i convertible. problem is finding reverse. man i bought it from was not the original and never drove the car. any help would be appreciated so i can back this car out of my garage.

yeah... you have to jam it over to the left and up (i believe)... i had the same problem when i was driving a relative's 325 convertible in the middle of Texas in the Summer. Had to turn around but the road wasn't large enough for the turning radius... I looked pretty stupid pushing the car back in reverse... haha.

haha yea u will feel a jolt then push up and away u go!!! oh also 2 get some practice do it in ur garage with the ignition on the check if the reverse lights are on!!!

Put it in netural and hit it hard to the left then to the front (or forward) that should do it.
