I had an 85 325e, and I could get over 32/33 hwy consistently. My city fuel economy was in the mid to high 20's. The engine also had over 500k miles on it, and was VERY well maintained.

mine is a 1999 e46 190 bhp standard. but it all depends what kinda driving you do. but im getting around 24 city . if i keep it steady on yhe motorway cruising about 65 mph im getting 35 - 37. but the combined consumption is 32.3 . according to the computer in the car, but like i say cruising they are very efficient fo the size of engine.
