trunk lid release

I need to know if and where there might be a trunk release button on inside of my bmw325 I can't get trunk to open

Is it a convertible? Does it have an automatic top on it? If so it is tied in with the top functions. Can you find a leather strap down on the floor beneath the rear passenger seat? Pull it and that might solve some of your problems. Let me know if any of this helps. Doc
