Its kinda difficult on your m20 engine. The intake manifold is ridiculous. Itll probably take you a few hours to remove and re-install the manifold but other than that its a pretty straight forward procedure. Go to amazon.com and buy a Bentley manual for your e30 bmw. Bentley is the brand of book. e30 is your chassis code (84-92 3 series) Its around $30 and will save you some heartache. Good luck.

It's easy. At the end of the fuel injector rail you will find the regulator. On the 1 side loosen the small vacuum hose by pulling it off and the other end the return fuel hose by loosen the the pype clamp. Loosen the two 6mm boltz and pull the regulator out of the rail. To fit the new one, reverse the above steps.

Pretty sure you need to pull the intake mani to get to the injector rail.
