My 2011 Lincoln MKS AWD, on a steep hill, will continue to move forward, when in reverse, nose pointed down, unless I push the gas pedal. Is this normal?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car is automatic, but is equipped with tiptronic. I don't know if this makes a
difference. I also want to add that I just recently purchased this car from a dealer and this
happened on our first family trip in the vehicle, so there were five medium to large adults
in the vehicle at the time and the hill was rather steep.

I have a pretty solid warranty, so if it is a major issue, that won't be a problem. I just want to know if it is normal. I contacted the dealer and he said that it is normal. I also asked another dealer and he said the same thing. However, I called my mechanic and he seemed to disagree. I'm just confused now. Can somebody point me in the right direction. This car cost a pretty penny, so I definitely want to be sure.

I did go to the dealer and the gentleman told me that it is perfectly normal for this car. I just can't get past the fact that a car like this can't generate the rpm in reverse to overcome gravity without me stepping on it.
