Air conditioning problem

Asked by Emanuel May 14, 2019 at 04:26 PM about the 2011 Chevrolet Impala LT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So my Impala would make a
knocking noise in the glove
compartment. It would only go on for
a couple minutes then turn off.
Sometimes it would keep knocking
even if I turned the car off. So I never
really looked into it. Now I noticed
that my Whole air conditioning
stopped working. Won’t turn on at all.
What could be the problem?

the knocking is an actuator for a vent door or something , may be related to the A/C problem or not , if the system is empty there's a pressure switch and nothing else will come on , best to leave it to the pros. If it's empty it probably leaked out and if you put in a can of freon it'll also leak out
