Ford focus starting problem

Question type: General

New battery fitted  drove the car  to shops etc
came home then that evening went to start  car it
started then cut of keeps turning over  but won't
start but will with a set of jump leads

New battery could go bad due to bad alternator. If a battery drains too low a few times the cells go bad.Car will crank but wont start up with a jump Seen this happen on many cars. Last one was a cadillac.
