Sounds like it may be your clutch safety switch.

Depress the safety switch and try starting the car. Just be sure you are in NEUTRAL before doing this or you'll lurch forward in gear. The part of the dash holding the switch may have bent back enough to keep clutch pedal from contacting switch unless pedal is mashed down hard (which sounds like your case). If it starts then you know that's all it is.

I'm a girl.. I'm pretty smart when it comes to cars just experience with problems and I like to learn.. where is it at? The switch

You'll have to take hold of the clutch pedal and follow it up to where it attaches under the dash, the switch should be contacting the lever arm of the clutch pedal. Google "Clutch pedal position switch" for your year/make/model of car, or go to any parts shop and ask to see what one looks like. It COULD be possible the switch is in the correct position to contact the pedal lever arm, but the switch has become intermittent, the only way to know for sure is to remove it and test it, but for all that work just replace the switch with a new one. It's like a $12-15 part.
