Car cut off while driving

Asked by GuruS4TKK Aug 23, 2019 at 02:27 PM about the 2011 Toyota Camry SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving my Camry at around 60 mph, and it
shut off , and wouldnt start back up for about 10
minutes all of the dash lights went off. About 2
days the ac cut off and came back on and the radio
did the same.before it started back up it wouldnt
say anything, but after a few minutes it started
clicking like it was the battery, then all of sudden it
started right up. Any ideas what could be wrong? It
have about 120000 miles on it

I have the same issue but mines a 2007 Camry. It randomly turns the radio on and off and the air con etc. it stopped when I was going round a corner the other day. Then it took a few minutes to start it again, same thing battery light goes on. Took it to 2 auto electricians and they have no idea!!!

I would suggest you both search for the ground that connects the frame to the engine. It can cause all sorts of weird behavior. Generally you can find it between the firewall and the rear of the engine, and other times right next to the strut. Some have more than one. They break, fall off, or sometimes are not re-installed after major engine work. On the other side of the voltage, check the smaller wires from the positive side of the battery. The big one goes to the starter and does nothing else but supply power to it. The smaller ones supply power to everything else. Hope that helps.
