can i swap a 2011 3.7l 42rle trans for a 4.7l 5 spd trans

i would like a 5 spd trans instead of a 42rle 4 spd trans. my truck is a 2011 dakota big horn with a 3.7l engine.

yes if you swap it all...or just buy a hone over drive>With the synchro in one position, the unit locks up for direct drive. Shift the synchro to the alternate position and the incoming drive shaft drives a custom planetary carrier gear assembly that propels an enveloping ring gear approximately 30% faster. The ring gear drives the rear end pinion gear to reach overdrive speeds.

Yes you can easily swap it out. I got my 42rle 4 speed from these guys https://reman- transmission.com/transmission-codes/?code=42RLE and managed to get it sent to the shop and within a week i had it all swapped out and replaced :) Good luck!
