2010 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 will not start

Asked by Mary Nov 26, 2022 at 07:49 PM about the 2010 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT Quad Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Stuck in park,  instrument panel lights up,  turn key to start engine is dead.
Sometimes if you just sit there and hold on the key for a minute or two it will
start or if you press on the brake hard tilt the steering wheel back and insert a
screwdriver in the little hole it will go to neutral then start

Sounds like a park switch problem, it could be out of adjustment or just worn out.

There's an electrical short somewhere. ight be in the steering column wiring, the neutral safety switch, the selector park position, or maybe the ignition switch. I can't see the car from here; go to someone who can.
