In lots of locations in Canada and Alaska there is only one gas pump. We saw lots of BMW's on the streets they seemed to be running just fine.I was only running premium grade fuel in my Z4 and 528 xi. After seeing that while on vacation I decided to try it. No choice in some towns. The only thing we've noticed is a VERY slight decrease in MPG. Saving in CPM (cents per mile) is substantial. Up to $0.60 per gallon in some locations. The computer in a BMW is smart enough to compensate for 87 octane vs 92 octane. We tracked the GPM by calculation for several tanks of fuel. We did not go by the reading in the car. It was at most a couple of tenths.
