Malfunction Indicator Light

Asked by AndyLocust Aug 19, 2017 at 11:24 AM about the 2010 Volkswagen CC 2.0T Sport FWD

Question type: General

I noticed my VW CC MIL came on about halfway through a
900 mile drive. Now I need to return to my location about
900. I couldn't find any mechanic where I am right now to
check why the MIL came on. My question is, can I drive my
vehicle 900 miles back to have it check?

Depends...not flashing. You will see increased fuel use.

I always take a code reader with me at all times. $10 for one on eBay. Autel brand also. MS300 model. I bought one for each car and the pull behind camper. Never know who will need a code read when with family and friends. This model has great reviews. I have not encountered a vehicle it will not read an engine code yet. Will not read ABS or SRS codes. I have 2 others for that. :).
