Is this a reliable car?

Asked by Jamie Joy Jan 05, 2021 at 11:39 PM about the 2010 MINI Cooper S

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

Looking on KLS and ran across a 2010 mini cooper. It has 127,000 miles.
Seller says its an automatic in the details, but the picture sure looks like a
manual shifter to me.  He says it runs like new and has had all the scheduled
maintenance on time. I'm not a crazy driver, but I don't want to spend money
on repairs anytime soon.  I just dont know enough about this car since I've
seen such mixed reviews on the web.  Help!

I had a 2006 Cooper S with a 6 speed automatic. Great car, loved it bought it new. Had a transmission issue since new, slamming downshifts when slowing down. Had a bad too Motor mount and brake issues and the dealer screwed me around over warranty repairs. Wouldn’t do anything about the transmission issue. Eventually traded it away because the trans was failing and cost to repair was more than the car was worth.
