Without knowing what the dealership looked at, it will be hard to determine. I need more details ie: does it do it if you hit a bump? does it do it all the time? does it sound like metal to metal? It will be very difficult to tell, but look at struts (make sure the three nuts on the top of the strut are tight) Check the sway bar links (thats a common issue with every manufacturer), look for loose bolts, look for something hanging down. Dont look specifically at the suspension, there could be a broken heat shield on the exhaust or the issue may not be coming directly from the left front wheels. The biggest problem that I have when I have to look at stuff like that is sound travels, and unless your hanging underneath the truck while someones driving, you will not be able to check the truck and get a 100% conclusion. Also, ask the dealership if someone has chassis ears, which is designed to target those specific issues. Let me know if you find any loose bolts and what the noise sounds like and when it happens, i know how annoying it is, I have a 91 F-150 and after about two years I had the same issues and finally figured out the rear leaf springs are worn out

it all started after i had the spark plugs changed out, and it sounds like a chain rattling. my 4 wheel drive will not engage either.
