battery keeps dying

Asked by Anthony May 15, 2017 at 06:35 PM about the 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently bought a used 2010 Dodge grand caravan from a dealership and
had a dvd player installed in it. After the dvd player was installed, I wasn't
able to use any of my accessory sockets. In a month's time, my battery
died. I installed a new battery 3 months ago and the battery died on me
today. Is the problem something faulty because of installation of the dvd
player or another issue.

Sounds like the add ons are drawing power constantly. http://www.wikihow.com/Find-a-Parasitic-Battery-Drain go to that website for a good parasitic drain test. As it states, anything over 25-50 milliamps is too much. To find the drain, start removing fuses with ammeter hooked up. When the draw goes away, you've found the circuit. Next, test items in that circuit to pinpoint drain. Don't rule out an alternator also.

Don't rule out multiple drains also.
