Dealer responsibility

Asked by GuruS64F2 Jun 15, 2019 at 03:00 PM about the 2010 Chrysler Sebring Touring Sedan FWD

Question type: General

I purchased a car from a used dealer four and a
half years ago.  It’s paid off and we no longer need
it. I went to sell it and another used dealer wanted
to purchase it. They ran a Carfax and it came back
as a total loss. This is noted on the Carfax just 30
miles before I purchased the vehicle. It has a green
title, nothing mentioned about being a salvaged
title or a rebuilt title. When I went to the car lot to
ask them about it the general manager did it was a
problem and they would contact corporate and
someone would call me midweek. I am now stuck
with a vehicle that was never worth to even close
to what I paid for it. I am not sure where to go with
this as the dealer said they ran across this once
before on a Hummer and they got Carfax to delete
the total loss from their report. I can’t call Carfax
because they have no phone numbers but I did
send them an email today. Any ideas on what I
should do...it’s been a lemon from day one and
now I know why.

I did a little research and it appears I have five years to file against the dealer. I kept digging and found the pictures and all information that shows the dealer purchased it from an auto auction. It shows the airbag deployed. I have contacted an attorney, hoping to end the dealer doing this in the future. Thanks for your input.
