Knocking sound while turning steering in Honda civic 2010

Asked by Get2ps29 Apr 21, 2014 at 11:31 PM about the 2010 Honda Civic LX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello friends

I recently bought a Honda civic 2010 lx from a dealer in NY. I got 2 months Lemon law
warranty. After driving around 100 miles in 10 days of time, I started getting knocking
sound while turning the steering left or right while driving. This knocking sound is audible
inside the car. I am not sure what's the cause of this but it looks like it's coming from the
shaft connecting the steering.  As per my reading it should be covered in lemon law
warranty but dealer is reluctant to cover it under warranty as I have declined the
extended warranty from them.

Please suggest if somebody has seen this kind of issue in Honda civic. Also, if anybody
has escalated the lemon' slaw warranty.

Thanks.

the rubber boot around your drive shaft axles is broken. the grease came out from them and they make noise when you turn

Oh, well talk to the Honda service, a moving part is part of the drive train, Honda public relations have done some incredible adjustments in the past I hear. good luck, j7
