AC malfuntion. Can I replace the belt with a shorter belt and bypass the compressor completely?

Yes,but you can all so buy a pulley assembly the go,s where the ac compressor is all so.

TST is right on. Just be sure, that if you don't replace belt without using an idler the belt could end up with flat side on a ribbed device. That's why an idler is much better than byassing
