Have you reviewed the issue on used vehicles???  The Subaru Outback Limited ,
2010 report was favorable ..

No mention of the CVTs... actually,  only the 2013 model and newer were
downgraded...for a few things...

So, even with the age on the 2010....the 2011 and 2012 models came out
looking good...

Sure, Consumer Reports is only one barometer.....others like Car Complains
and True Delta....also has the 2010 looking good ....  Of course, your mileage
may vary......

My advice is keep your car professionally serviced on a regular basis ...you will
save money in the long run....

Grasshopper...you're back! 2010 CVT's have the highest failure rate. Their older 2.5i has a tendency toward increased head-related problems (continuing through 2012, alas). The soft suspension is sloppy, as we all know (that's why they rated the handling as "adequate" in the past. You should also know that CR's data is about 18-24mo behind actual reality. Geez, you're such a "fanboy"...please hop away!

Hello - I have a question for all the Subaru experts if you could please. I was planning to buy a 2011 Outback tonight, 95K miles. What I found out today is making me question the investment. After reading about the CVT issues, I started digging and confirmed that this Outback did have an issue just a few months ago and SOA confirmed the CVT in this vehicle has a 24K or 24 month warranty since it was replaced with a remanufactered (NOT REBUILD) CVT under warranty. So, should I buy it and have peace of mind that the CVT issues have been addressed and maybe I'll get 100k miles out of it or walk away? Can't afford a new one, so was looking for exactly this price range - I think I should happy at this news since the known CVT problems have been addressed but could I be getting into a money pit. I have a 2000 Subaru Outback that won't start. I have replaced the starter twice, and still nothing. I was told to try the starter relay, but can't seem to find the location of the relay.
