Why not put modern electronics and safety equipment in your older model?

Question type: General

You really don't need the newest model to have current technology?
For example, I just had a rearview camera mirror and parking sensors installed
in my 2010 Subaru Outback.    Not only does it add modern safety features
especially when parking, it will be a great sales point when I'm ready to sell the
car.  After all, people purchase newer cars to acquire this technology and might
as well have this while I'm still enjoying the car.   If it even saves one accident
while backing up in parking lots, it will be well worth the investment.  Isn't this
just as important as a nice audio system?
Have you considered doing this for your car??

walth, too bad, but, maybe you don't have to drive in such populated areas or log that many miles behind the wheel. In really congested areas having the back up camera is a real desirable feature.

Me neither. My cars all have rear view mirrors that are cleaned as necessary. Some have auto-dimming and even a compass! Yow- eee.

Well, you folks have not been subjected to people walking behind your car in parking lots just itching to get struck, and filing a lawsuit. Thankfully this has not happened to me, but, it could happen especially in an area so congested and litigious as ours. Keep those mirrors and windows cleaned and make sure you look around everywhere. Even with the camera and sensors, I'm still very careful in parking lots. And, yes, my system also has auto dimming, compass, inside and outside temperature sensors.
