why is my steering wheel off center?

my steering wheel has been a degree or two
off center for some time. I keep making
corrections to the right to go straight. A
week ago I got two new front tires and and
4 wheel alignment which I figured would
correct the steering issue. it did not. I went
back to the shop and told them that the
steering was still off. They redid the
alignment for free. It's still has not been
corrected. Why is this? How do I straighten
my steering wheel? I dint want to pay for
another alignmeby that does not fix the
steering wheel.

The same thing happened to my car after I hit a moose. The shop has got to get the wheels completely straight, then remove the steering wheel and put it back on so it's straight with the wheels. Has your car ever been in a wreck?

Some twist axle cars, will dog track like a semi truck when the rear axle is out. Many techs don't know this and align the wheels straight ahead, resulting in a cocked steering wheel. This happens because the front steering angle(aka:steering wheel position) will always cock in opposite direction of rear axle angle(thrust angle) from what the tech set it at. Therefore the steering wheel must be compensated for this predictable movement.
