Asked by GuruJ2XBJ Aug 07, 2020 at 02:52 PM about the 2010 Subaru Forester 2.5 X Limited

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought a 2010 Subaru Forester, 148,000 kms. Should I use a high
mileage oil and what brand of oil should I choose.
Thank you.

In my opinion high mileage oils are 99% marketing but go ahead and use them if you like. Any name brand oil is good. I use Penzoil but other major name brands are also good.

Would anybody else have an opinion on the value of high mileage oils? I have no expertise in this area, but really like learning from people on this forum.

The cost difference for high mile oil is negligible so use what you like.
