Every time I get my oil changed, the check engine light comes on and the cruise control flashes! Why is that?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This has just happened to me after filling my tank. Forums I've looked through suggest a number of possible causes. I called the dealership and was advised that probable cause was "bad gas", Lights are distracting but I notice no difference in the performance of my Forester. Sorry couldn't be more helpful!
