Service ESC and power steering

I have a 2010 Malibu and it keeps saying service ESC and
the steering wheel is hard to turn. Can anyone tell me
what is wrong and what parts are needed to fix this
problem.

when the ESC light is on (traction control) engine goes into a low power mode causing your steering to act up. have code read to see were to start repairing the trac. system.
