Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have 2010 Ford Flex with 104,000.00 miles.  Car
needs a new fuel pump and front and rear end
brake job.  Total cost $1500.00. I have one year left
on it before its mine.  Do I just trade it in or fix it?

i think the answer is pretty simple here... $1500 for new brakes all around and a new fuel pump (which i find is ridiculously high, if i did it myself i would expect to pay around 6-800), or buy a new car to the tune of $40K (just a guess roughly what a flex is worth) you could buy a new car and in a couple years youre still going to have to replace normal wearing parts such as brakes, tires, etc. just fix it, drive it for another 100,000-200,000m. if you bought a new car every time it needed something, youd be living in said car pretty quick i think.
