why is liquid coming from exhaust pipe

Our 2010 Chevy Equinox with the 4 cylinder motor, has what looks like water coming
from exhaust pipe. What is it and why does this occur. (It is currently zero degrees in the
Chicagoland region.

as long as your vehicle is running good , no overheating, not losing coolant, no coolant/oil problems, then it is likely just condensation. cold outside, warm exhaust == moisture.

mikeatpriestlake is right on. In addition to the condensation in your muffler, etc. The hot air coming from exhaust, going out in to cold air condenses the outside air in to visible 'fog'. Now if you have liquid still dripping out tailpipe after car is fully warmed up, come back and let us know that please.
