What is the ticking sound

My car is making a loud ticking noise coming from the
engine seems like. I have a 2010 chevy equinox.  Thought it
was because my oil was low but after oil change it still
making the loud noise

Lifter tick? Depends on how long you ran it low on oil or how often but mine developed the same thing. Sometimes itll go away sometimes it wont. Relativity harmless just keep an eye on you oil. Does it sounds metallic. Not really loud..top of engine?
