where/ what is rusting? steel has iron in, iron rusts. more info is needed

I am not sure. the rust on the ground is under the back of the car. I had my car parked for a couple of weeks on my driveway

so it's on the ground? that's odd... i doubt it's coming from the actual car. grab a flash light and look at the underside of the car and see if you can spot any large areas of rust. if you see rust on your break rotors this is normal. also, open the trunk/hatch and check your spare tire compartment, though not likely, it's possible it is getting water in it, which causes the spares steel rim to rust, then the rusty-water drains out on to your driveway. your car has a corrosion warranty, so if you think it's the car cause these rust spots on the drive way take it to a Chevy dealer/ service department. you have a "two stage" corrosion warranty described as follows "100,000 miles / 72 months- Covers any body sheet metal panel that rusts-through (an actual hole). Corrosion Warranty covers body sheet metal against surface rust for 36 months/36,000 miles."

It looks like it is in the middle ofthe car just about in line with the rear tires. We had salt on the roads in Michigan. Where it salt marks are on the driveway so is the rust.

middle of the car inline with the rear tires would be about the position of the spare tire, did you check that out?
