I have 2010 Buick Lacrosse CXS. Where are the sunroof drains located, how do I clear them, and check if they have disconnected?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Found an inch of water on the rer driver side floor. Front seemed OK I'm thinking the sunroof drains may be clogged or disconnected. Could it also be the heating system in the front. I've heard that can clog and send water through the dash and to the floor?

Open the sunroof and look for a little hole in the gutter.

Sunroof drains run to rear taillights. Pull out your interior trunk trim and panel on side getting wet and you should see the drain line located up high. The hose has probably become disconnected at a splice there in the trunk (it's a stupid design), so it fills up with water in the trunk area and then depending upon how you're parked, it will come forward into passenger compartment area or fill your spare tire area with water. I know mine dumped a bunch of water right onto electronics located on the right side...only a genius designs a water line with an unsecured splice running directly above electronics, right? This disconnection can be prevented by adding a couple of hose clamps - the only reason I can see for Buick not having done this is they were being cheap or they were trying to ensure that there would be a few annoying problems that people would have to get serviced by dealerships because they'd be too intimidated to try fixing it themselves. It's really easy to fix and again, it's a really, really stupid design by Buick that should have been recalled and fixed free of charge a long time ago.
