what might cause the sunroof to jam 2010 toyota camry

problem is it seems like the roof tries to slide before it drop down causing it to jam

Clean the track that the roof slides in and lubricate the seals with a little silicone spray. Run the roof back and forth a few time and hopefully that will fix it.
