2010 Toyota Corolla S (1.8L) Transmission Leak

Asked by GuruJZ5Q May 23, 2017 at 11:25 PM about the 2010 Toyota Corolla S

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I was changing my oil last week I noticed the
bottom of the transmission was dirty (looked like
typical road dirt and grime build up or grease) so I
wiped it off and cleaned it as usual, but when I
checked on it again today I noticed it was leaking
transmission fluid. Not bad at all but what could the
problem be? Looked like a bad gasket or
something?

If the fluid is coming out of the transmission pan gasket area, try snugging up the bolts on the pan. For a 2010 the gasket should not be bad, but if you have 40,000 miles or more on the car, you may as well have the transmission fluid and filter changed out. Then there would be a new pan gasket put on. What ever you do, Do Not get a transmission flush. This only causes problems down the road.
