Which is better toyota corolla or hyundai elantra SE. I'm looking for reliability long term

I'm going to let you in on a little secret that most people don't know. You can get better mileage and reliability out of any late '80s and early '90s Buick or Oldsmobile with a 3100, 3300, or 3800 V6 than almost any newer car. Don't blow your money on a new car when you can get better results for a tenth the price.
2010 Corolla (S or above, not base) is pretty competitive in terms of equipment to 2009 Elantra SE. But Elantra will hands down beat Corolla on price in 2009 or 2010 with the rebates Hyundai offers. Hyundai also got picked by JD Power and Associates above Toyota for 2009 IQS. With the long warranty and the IQS results, pricing and equipment, I would say move past any preconceptions you have about Hyundai and their infamous reputation and give them a chance. I was pleasantly surprised.
I have owned 3 Corollas now, the last one i bought new in 2001 and just sold it 2 months ago when i bought a 2010. I put 171,000 km on it, totally free of all problems. The only time it was in a garage was for tires, and the only work i did on it was oil changes. I bet theres not a Hyundai anywhere that can say that.
