Four wheel drive won't work

My four wheel drive won't work my mechanic said driver side actuator was bad so I have
put an actuator and wheel hub and vacuum pump on fire wall. Is it possible the other side
went bad at the same time. No lights on dash and says it shifted into 4x4 but still doesn't
work?

Check for vacuum leaks going to the hubs. If this is ok get a vacuum pump and pressure up where the vacuum lines go to spindles. Pump pressure on the spindle fitting to see if it holds vacuum.

i have an f150 stx 2009 my front tires aren't kicking into 4wheel drive light on dash says 4x4 even tried 4 low ...neither work... how can i fix and how much is this gonna cost me?
