2009 Ford Ranger AC not working properly.

My AC does not work on AC but does on Max AC.  It does not seem to weak
either on Max AC but the second I switch to AC it blows hot air

note the diagram says, MANUAL hvac. I think the climate control assembly is faulty? Notice at the controls, max ac and ac, if max ac works why wouldn't ac, unless it was the climate control assembly? Just my opinion.
