Air conditioner not working properly

Asked by Kathy Aug 14, 2018 at 06:49 AM about the 2009 Kia Spectra EX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I need help with my 2009 KIA Spectra!  The ac/heater
switches to "on"- you can hear it clicking but does not blow
ANY air at all. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It
hasn't worked for about a few days now. Hoping it's a cheap
fix, can't take the heat anymore!!!

My 2008 Kia Sportage is doing the exact same thing. Last week it started going in and out but the majority of the time there was blowing cold air. now the Air does not blow it all but it clicks like it's on and nothing sounds abnormal it just isn't blowing. Randomly it will come on for about 30 seconds and then stop. I've open the hood and listen for any strange sounds when I turn the air on and off and everything sounds normal. I just had my radiator replaced and a couple other maintenance things done about 2 months ago so I'm sure it has nothing to do with that. if anybody does have any advice on where to look for an electrical problem that I could maybe do myself that would be helpful!

Replace blower motor. 700138 eBay $38. 3 screws and 1 plug , bottom side of dash , passenger side . 5 minute job and $38 later. Problem solved. My 09 Spectra did same thing.
