No heat

I had to boost my truck this morning is -36 a check engine
light came on and I have no heat now but blower fan
works coolant is full

Negative 36? I think I would be happy just having a truck that started at that extreme. You may have full capacity on the coolant, but the coolant itself may have degraded over time, when was it last flushed? Did any part of cooling system ice up? Since CEL was on, pull the codes.

Maybe the thermostat stuck open. That level of cold plays havoc with everything.

Make sure your coolant mix is rated for -40 or lower. You should probably have 60% anti- freeze - 40% water at those temperatures.
